Chichester Canal Path

The Chichester Canal towpath runs from Chichester Basin southward towards the harbour at Birdham, passing to the east of the Fishbourne area. The towpath is a popular walking and cycling route, following the surviving section of the Portsmouth and Arundel Canal through flat countryside. The canal is navigable by small boats on the restored section, and the Canal Trust runs boat trips from the basin. For Fishbourne residents, the canal path provides a traffic-free route towards Chichester and a pleasant recreational walk that connects to the harbour-side path network.
