Fishbourne Road East is the continuation of the road towards Chichester, running from the A259 roundabout eastward into the city suburbs. Despite the name, this section is closer to Chichester than to Fishbourne village itself, and is lined with suburban housing, a Tesco superstore, and the park-and-ride site. For Fishbourne residents, this road is the main car route into Chichester and carries commuter traffic at peak times.
