Supermarkets near Fishbourne

Grocery shopping options for the village

Fishbourne does not have its own supermarket, and residents shop in Chichester for groceries. The short distance to the city means that supermarket shopping is straightforward, with several major stores within a five to ten minute drive.

Sainsbury's on Westhampnett Road is the nearest large supermarket, located on the eastern edge of Chichester close to the A27. Tesco has a superstore on Fishbourne Road East, which despite the name is closer to Chichester than to Fishbourne village itself. Waitrose occupies a prominent site near Chichester city centre and is popular with residents of the surrounding villages.

Lidl and Aldi both have stores in the Chichester area, providing budget alternatives. Marks and Spencer has a food hall at the retail park off the A27. The range of supermarket options is comprehensive and comparable to what a much larger town would offer.

Home delivery from all major supermarkets covers Fishbourne, and the convenience of ordering online has reduced the inconvenience of not having a shop in the village. Delivery slots are generally available, though peak times around Christmas and during periods of bad weather can be busier.

For specialist food shopping, Chichester's independent shops on East Street and the Hornet include a fishmonger, a cheese shop, and a delicatessen. The twice-weekly market in the city centre sometimes includes food stalls.
